Tinselled tipples to warm you up!
With just a few weeks until Santa drops by for milk and cookies, the festive feeling has truly arrived at Backyard Cinema. To warm you up and get you in the mood for the silly season, we’ve created a sleigh full of Christmas cocktails, now available at all Capital Studio’s Bars. Pop on down for a pre-show tipple, or try out some of our cracking recipes at home.
The Gingerbread Sour
The Gingerbread Sour
Our twist on the ever so popular ‘Gingerbread sour’ is a winner for those that like a nippy, bittersweet taste that lingers on the tongue.
Topped with a sprig of rosemary and a stick of cinnamon, this cocktail provides the feeling of a crisp, winter’s evening.
Ingredients
- 25ml Gingerbread syrup
- 37.5ml lemon juice
- 25ml eggwhite
- 12.5ml Frangelico
- 37.5ml Maker´s Mark Whisky
- 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters
Hot Toddy
Hot Toddy
Perfect for when it’s chilly outside and you need something to warm those toes. The Hot Toddy delivers that ‘sitting by an open fire’ feeling.
Make it your own with your favourite dark spirit as a base, a dash of Orange Angostura and honey, topped off with lemon juice and boiling water.
Ingredients
- 50ml choice of dark spirit (whisky, rum, brandy)
- Dash of Orange Angostura
- 15ml honey
- 10 ml lemon juice

Almond flavours from Italy, Bourbon from Kentucky and a destination of New York. This tumbler houses gradient colours and seasonal punch from top to bottom. Full to the brim with Maker’s Mark, Amaretto, lemon juice, egg white and a float of red wine.
Sit back and let this jolly joy take you on a round the world flavour adventure.

- 25ml sugar
- 25ml eggwhite
- 12.5ml Amaretto
- 37.5ml Maker´s Mark
- A generous pour of red wine to top off

This Insta worthy cocktail is perfect for those with a sweet tooth. With a look that screams ‘selfie’ please, we’ve pulled out all Santa’s stops for this delicious digestif.
This fall favourite will have you sipping all the way to Christmas day!
Ingredients
- A cinnamon and brown sugar rim
- 10ml caramel
- 10 ml lemon juice
- 50 ml apple juice
- 50 ml Spiced Rum
