WHAT IS CAPITAL STUDIOS?
Capital Studios is Backyard Cinema’s home. The iconic Capital Studios, a former TV studio host to shows like Ready Steady Cook, was built in the 60’s – it was a forgotten and untouched canvas waiting for re-imagination. Brace yourself to be swept up into the immersive Backyard Cinema adventure you know and love, amplified to intense new heights. Multi-sensory theme-changing cinemas, live music, artisan pizza, captivating theatrics, street food yard, craft beer bar, and many more fantastical surprises yet to be revealed.
WHAT COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES HAVE BEEN TAKEN?
By purchasing a ticket you will have already agreed to adhere to our COVID19 policy. This includes having your temperature checked on arrival. Failure to do so may result in you being refused entry from the venue.
We have introduced a whole host of measures to help prevent the transmission of COVID-19 at the venue. As well as operating at a reduced capacity, we have implemented a clear one-way system, , and our team will be on hand to help you manage and maintain a safe distance throughout the venue. We’ve equipped all our staff with the necessary PPE and they have been fully trained on the health & safety measures we’ve implemented to help limit the spread of COVID-19.
To further limit person-to-person contact, we’ve introduced a contactless only payment and non-contact sanitising stations are readily available around the space. You may also notice our cleaners onsite during opening hours as they work to keep the space clean.
While attending the venue, customers are asked to respect social-distancing and be mindful of our team and other guests within the building. Our team will be on hand to assist in any way possible. Please follow their instructions and ask for help when needed.

WHERE CAN I GET TICKETS?
All tickets need to be pre-purchased online through our website – the one you’re on now! Simply select the theme you’re interested in from the ‘What’s On’ menu, choose your film and select which ticket option is best for you. More details around selecting the best ticket option for you can be found in the next FAQ below.
HOW DO I BOOK TICKETS?
We have redesigned our cinema seating plan to accommodate the current social distancing guidelines, so all tickets are currently sold in pairs or as a group of three. Please note, groups of three are only available in one of our screens.
First choose your group size (Maximum of 6), either in pairs or groups of three, and then your desired section, Stalls, Premium or Super Premium.
Super Premium are our best seats in the house, Premium seats are located in the centre of the cinema and Stalls occupy the remainder.
Everyone will be seated on our signature giant bean bags. If you have any special requirements please make us aware in advance so that we can ensure you have the best experience possible.
Please note that all ticket prices are for single admission, so please ensure you select the correct quantity of tickets based on the group size you have selected.
Your e-ticket(s) will be emailed to you within 24 hours of your purchase. Keep these safe and bring them with you, preferably on a smartphone or digital device. NB: All tickets must be checked & exchanged at our Box Office on arrival.

Not to worry! If you have your booking reference number, head to www.seetickets.com/customerservice, where you can download your tickets directly to any device.

DO I NEED TO PRINT OFF MY TICKETS?
No, we fully encourage you to keep your tickets on your smart device, where a member of our Box Office team will scan your ticket from your device on arrival.
HOW DO I REDEEM MY PRE-PURCHASED FOOD OR DRINK?
You will be required to exchange your tickets, including those for pre-purchased food or drink, for Backyard Cinema Passes on arrival at our Box Office. You will then be given tokens in exchange for any pre-purchased food or drink; these can be exchanged at the Cinema bar. Please note that you may only redeem this token at the Cinema bar, and at no others on site, and we are unable to exchange or refund part or all of any pre-purchased food or drink items.
WHERE IS THE CINEMA LOCATED?

WHAT ARE THE CLOSEST PUBLIC TRANSPORT LINKS?
We’re a 10 minute walk from Wandsworth Town station, which is served by South Western Railway and has direct connections with Waterloo, Vauxhall and Clapham Junction stations. Alternatively, you can take the District Line to East Putney station, from which we’re a 20 minute walk from, or a 10 minute bus journey; taking the number 337 or 37 from East Putney (Stop EA) to Armoury Way (Stop E).
IS THERE PARKING?
There is no venue dedicated parking, unfortunately. There is a car park nearby, NCP Wandsworth Southside 2, which is a 5-10 minute walk away.

WHAT TIME DOES THE CINEMA OPEN?
Your ticket will contain the specific information for your show, and everything you will need for your visit;

WHAT DO I DO WHEN I GET TO CAPITAL STUDIOS?
When you arrive at Capital Studios, please head to the Main Reception (on 13 Wandsworth Plain) where you will be required to undergo a temperature check before entering the venue. Once you have gained entry you will be directed to our Cinema Box Office. Please ensure you follow our one way system around the venue, which will be clearly sign posted throughout.
Once you have received your Backyard Cinema passes, you will prepare to enter the Winter Night Garden. Remember, we have lots of surprises up our sleeves, so don’t be late!
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?
No need to worry, the event is indoors, fully heated and sheltered from the British elements, whether sunshine or rain.
CAN I BRING MY KIDS TO THIS EVENT?
Sure, we love kids! You will need to check the rating of the film and they will require a ticket. Obviously, they won’t be allowed to drink alcohol and our bar staff will be checking ID all night. We love seeing kids watching old classics like The Goonies, or Back to the Future for the first time.
IS THERE DISABLED ACCESS?
Absolutely, Capital Studios is fully accessible. The venue has wheelchair accessible toilets, accessible lift and a dedicated team on site who are available to assist throughout your visit. Additionally, we offer carers tickets free of charge – when booking your chosen date, please use the code CARERTICKET before selecting your seats. Each Carers ticket will need to be purchased with at least one other full price ticket. When arriving on the day, we will ask to see a valid CEA or PIP letter as evidence of providing personal care – if you are unable to provide this, we may refuse you entry or ask you to pay the full admission price for that section.
CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD AND DRINK?
Afraid not, although you will be delighted to know we have a range of traditional cinema snacks on offer as well as a fully licensed bar selling beer, wine, cocktails and soft drinks.
CAN I BUY HOT FOOD AT THE VENUE?
Absolutely, we have a food court with street food offerings from Honest Burger and we also make our own delicious artisan pizza.

DOES THE BAR STAY OPEN DURING THE FILM? I GET THIRSTY…
I feel ya buddy, the bar will be open throughout the screening.
WHAT PAYMENT METHODS CAN I USE?
At current, we’ll only be accepting contactless payments for food and drinks throughout the venue, in order to minimise human interaction and possible contact. So remember to bring your contactless card with you!
I NEED TO GET HOME AT SOME POINT, WHEN WILL IT ALL BE FINISHED BY?
The longest films we have scheduled finish no later than 11pm, but this will of course vary depending on what you have elected to see! Please check the run time of your film (stated on the website) if you are concerned about your homebound journey.
IS THERE A DRESS CODE?
While dressing up as a character from the film is always welcomed (and encouraged!), there is no enforced dress code.
CAN I SMOKE?
There is an allocated smoking area outside of the cinema. If you want to smoke you can pop outside – just make sure you keep hold of your ticket so you can come and go as you like.
CAN I GET A REFUND OR SWAP MY DATE?
Unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds on any tickets purchased, if you wish to enquire about exchanging your tickets please contact [email protected] where the team will be able to assist you, depending on the availability we have.

CAN I REARRANGE MY FILM IF I AM FEELING SICK OR UNWELL?
Yes of course, and importantly if you’re showing symptoms of COVID-19 or live with someone that is, please do not attend the venue – contact our customer services team via email on [email protected] who will be able to rearrange your show for a future date, subject to availability.
