Backyard Cinema fans – we hope you are all keeping safe, and trying to deal with the current situation as best you can.
We have had many conversations here at Capital Studios (Backyard Cinema HQ) about how we should move forward in light of recent events, and we wanted to update you on the actions we’ve decided to take.
The health and safety of our customers and staff is of paramount importance to us so we have decided that, until further notice, our final show at Capital Studios will be 18th March 2020. Although this has been a difficult decision to take, we feel it is the right one.
The most recent Government advice issued is, although there are currently no restrictions by law on mass gatherings or community events, to avoid unnecessary social situations including bars, theatres, and cinemas.
We would like to help our customers to avoid the difficult position of having to choose between following government advice or attending our shows:
We feel that it’s crucial to tackle this with the spirit of togetherness, and for our part we’d like to encourage everyone to remain hopeful about the future. With this in mind, we will be continuing to plan for shows that are in the future, so we have decided that Romeo + Juliet at Union Chapel (12th May – 25th May) will remain available for the time being.
As a business, and as people, we are all trying to make the best decisions we can with the information that we have, and we thank you for your support and understanding, and we hope that you will extend the same to members of your community that are in need, as well as taking the necessary precautions to protect yourselves and those close to you.
From all of us at Backyard, looking forward to seeing you back at the cinema.
