Union Chapel is about 200m from Highbury & Islington station, served by the Victoria line, the London Overground and mainline train services. Only platforms for London Overground lines are accessible by wheelchair.
WHAT TIME DOES THE CINEMA OPEN?
CINEMA DOORS OPEN FROM 6:30PM
LAST ENTRY IS 7:15PM
SHOW START TIME IS 8PM
* If you arrive later than your last entry time you could be refused entry.
Please arrive on time to enjoy the show.
I WILL NEED TO GET HOME AT SOME POINT, WHEN WILL IT ALL BE FINISHED BY?
The scheduled show run time is 2 hours and 20 minutes, with a rough finish time of 10:30pm – however this can be subject to change.
IS THERE A BAR OR FOOD AT THE VENUE? I GET THIRSTY!
Union Chapel’s bar has a very lovely licensed bar, on the first floor in Union Chapel’s original Lecture Hall. This is open to ticket holders only, and opens at the same time as the doors to the show – it remains open before, during and after the performance.
NB: Please note that alcohol is not permitted inside the seating area of Union Chapel, so drinks should be finished at the bar.
There’s also Margins Café serving delicious, freshly prepared food, with all money made helping to fund The Margins Project, based at the Chapel.
CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD AND DRINK?
I’m afraid food or drink purchased outside of the venue is not permitted inside, and drinks purchased at the venue will not be allowed in the seating area for the duration of the show.
WHAT KIND OF SEATING WILL BE THERE?
There are traditional church pew seats throughout the venue; The Union Chapel is an architectural treasure that’s also a working church and award winning venue. Please be advised you will be seated on pews for the duration of the event so if you would like to bring a cushion with you then please do! NB: We will not be providing cushions so please ensure you come prepared.
IS THE SEATING ALLOCATED?
Seating is not allocated or reserved in advanced, it is given out on a first come, first served basis. However there will be staff on hand to ensure you get the best seats possible at the time of your arrival.
Any groups over 10 should get in touch via email beforehand to avoid the disappointment of not being able to sit together;
CAN I BRING MY KIDS WITH ME?
Sure, we love kids. You will need to check though as the rating of the film is a 12A and they will require a ticket. Obviously they won’t be allowed to drink and our bar staff will be checking ID all night, however we love seeing kids being educated by Shakespeare.
IS THERE DISABLED ACCESS?
Access is via the main entrance on Compton Terrace (N1 2UN), where there is three stone steps. If you require ramp access please contact us in advance so that we can have the ramp ready for you, door staff will also be on hand to provide assistance.
Due to the nature of the building please be aware that the corridors and doorways are often narrow, uneven and dimly lit. Stewards are on hand to provide assistance, but if you are disabled and you think this will make things difficult for you, we would recommend bringing a companion. Companions do not need a ticket but you do need to inform us in advance if you will be bringing a companion.
There is one wheelchair accessible toilet located on the ground floor, accessed from the right hand side of the stage in the Chapel. And the Bar, on the first floor, is accessible to wheelchair users but you will need the assistance of a member of staff.
We have a Ampetronic ILD9 induction loop which is designed for large spaces. It is in operation at all events and can be accessed by anyone who uses a hearing aid with a T setting.
CAN I SMOKE OR VAPE?
There is an allocated smoking and vaping area outside of the cinema. If you want to smoke you can pop outside, just keep hold of your ticket and you can freely come in and out as you please.
CAN I GET A REFUND?
I am afraid we do not offer refunds or exchanges on ticket purchases. You are able to give your ticket to a family member or friend, without changing the name, if you can no longer make it.
