Where do I get my tickets from?
All tickets need to be pre-purchased online at our website. You can choose between an online or mobile version of your ticket, keep this safe and bring it with you to the show and you can exchange it at the box office on arrival.
NB: ALL TICKETS MUST BE EXCHANGED AT THE BOX OFFICE ON ARRIVAL
Is the seating allocated?
Seating is not allocated, however it is split up into your desired section. Front, Back or Premium. We will have staff on hand to ensure you get the best seats possible and trust us, we have checked them all and they all have a great view. Any groups over 6 should get in touch via e-mail before hand to avoid disappointment of being able to sit together.
What happens if it rains?
Can I bring my own food and drink?
Afraid not, although you will be delighted to know we have a range of traditional cinema snacks as well as a fully licensed bar selling beer, wine, cocktails and softs. There is also a fantastic Italian street food market right outside the entrance. So you won’t need to bring a thing.
What kind of seating will be there?
Great big bean bag loungers will be available for everyone!
Does the bar stay open? I get thirsty…
I feel ya buddy, the bar will stay open during the performance.
Can I smoke?
If you want to smoke you can pop outside, just keep hold of your ticket and you can freely come in and out as you please.
What are the closest public transport links?
It’s a 5 minute walk from either Borough or Elephant & Castle station.
I will need to get home at some point, when will it all be finished by?
The longest films we have on show will be finishing no later than 11pm, most of them much earlier. Please check the run time of your film if you are concerned about getting a particular train home.
Can I come before the film?
Hell yeah you can! The bar will be flowing, street food sizzling and music blasting. There is so much going on in Mercato Metropolitano too, it’s well worth a wander so get down early.
Is there a dress code?
As much as we would love to see you all in black tie, we have no enforced dress code.
Can I get a refund?
I am afraid we do not offer refunds on ticket purchases. You are able to give your ticket to a friend to attend if you can no longer make it. They would probably like that.
Can I bring my kids with me?
Sure, we love kids. You will need to check the rating of the film and they will require a ticket. Obviously, they won’t be allowed to drink and our bar staff will be checking ID all night. We love seeing kids watching old classics like The Goonies, or Back to the Future for the first time.
Is there disabled access?
We are pleased to say that yes there is disabled access. The cinema is however situated on tree bark, so it might be a bit of a bumpy ride to get in there, worth it though. It may also be easier if you are to get in touch with us before the show via e-mail, and we can get some aisle seats reserved for you and staff can be on hand to help should you need it.
What is the difference between the tickets?
We have packaged together the best bits of Backyard Cinema for you. Our standard ticket is simply access to the brilliant movie. The Thirsty Ticket gives you a drink as advertised on the film’s page. The date night ticket gets you your seats, a bottle of fizz, popcorn, & blankets, so you’re all set for the perfect evening out.
How do I get my food and drink when I get there with this prepaid ticket?
There will be a Backyard Cinema Box office at the entrance, you need to exchange your online or mobile ticket there for your Backyard Cinema ticket and (if purchased) your food and drink vouchers to be used at the bar. Once these have been swapped for you, it’s over to you to use them at the bar and keep them safe.
