Front of House Staff

ABOUT THE ROLE

Overview

We are looking for talented Front of House staff to join our fast-growing team at Capital Studios, for 2022 and beyond. This role will be based at Backyard Cinema’s Capital Studios Venue in Wandsworth, which is not only the home of immersive cinema with two large cinema screens changing themes seasonally, but also boasts large communal drinking areas, a live music stage, cocktail bar, street food and more.

The front of house team is responsible for supporting the Front of House Manager in the effective and smooth running of our cinema screenings and performances.

The front of house team are often the first point of contact with our audience, so it’s super important that you have good communication skills and are confident in liaising with our guests face to face.

You’ll work with the rest of the team to go above and beyond to make our audiences’ experience with us feel special, you will ensure that every part of our audience’s experience feels exciting and magical, time and time again. A huge amount of the atmosphere we create comes from the constant reminder that our audience are here to relax and have fun.

You’ll be approachable and a problem solver with a keen eye for detail.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • To be a main point of contact for our audience and guests using the venue
  • To greet and assist guests in and around the venue
  • To keep up to date on our products and services, with the ability to provide venue information, answer questions, support guest flow and crowd control, working reception, box office, the cinema and a number of other stations around the venue
  • To ensure guests feel welcomed and knowledgeable about all the services available to them during their visit
  • To actively engage with guests ensuring their needs are met, quickly and efficiently resolving any guest issue where possible or seeking management assistance if required
  • To be aware of daily film performances and keep up to date with our daily screening schedules
  • To actively upsell products and merchandise throughout the building whilst ensuring the security of the stock and money is maintained at all times
  • To maintain and restock promotional material and stations before and during shifts, including any cleaning as required, in line with company standards, procedures & policies
  • To understand & exemplify the licensing requirements, and operational functions of the venue and it’s POS system, feeding back performance issues and queries to the Management team as they arise
  • To provide detailed shift feedback to the Management team to support and drive business improvements
  • To constantly maintain & exemplify an understanding of all training materials, including fire safety, general health & safety, food hygiene and first aid, for the venue and it’s bars
  • To be responsible for ensuring a high standard of health and safety for all areas specific to your role as highlighted in your training
