What is Capital Studios?
Capital Studios is Backyard Cinema’s new permanent home. The iconic Capital Studios was built in the 60’s – it was a forgotten and untouched canvas waiting for re-imagination. Brace yourself to be swept up into the immersive Backyard Cinema adventure you know and love, amplified to intense new heights. Multi-sensory theme-changing cinema, live music, backyard drinks terrace, artisan pizza, captivating theatrics, exotic cocktail lounge, vegan street food, craft beer bar, and many more fantastical surprises yet to be revealed.
Where can I get tickets?
All tickets need to be pre-purchased online through our website – the one you’re on now! Simply select the theme you’re interested in, choose your film and select which ticket option is best for you.
Your e-ticket(s) will be emailed to you within 24 hours of your purchase. Keep these safe and bring them with you. NB: All tickets must be exchanged at our Box Office upon arrival.

What are the closest public transport links?
We’re a 10 minute walk from Wandsworth Town station, which is served by South Western Railway and has direct connections with Waterloo, Vauxhall and Clapham Junction stations. Alternatively, you can take the District Line to East Putney station, from which we’re a 20 minute walk from, or a 10 minute bus journey; taking the number 337 or 37 from East Putney (Stop EA) to Armoury Way (Stope E).
What time does the cinema open?
Your ticket will contain the specific information for your show, and everything you will need for your visit;

What do I do when I get to Capital Studios?
When you arrive at Capital Studios, please enter via the Main Reception (on 13 Wandsworth Plain) where you will be directed to our Cinema Box Office. Once you have received your Backyard Cinema passes, you will prepare to enter the Winter Night Garden. Remember, we have lots of surprises up our sleeves, so don’t be late!
What happens if it rains?
No need to worry, the event is indoors and sheltered from the British elements, whether sunshine or rain. There is however an outdoor seating area available for smokers and those wishing to visit our onsite food traders.
What is the seating like?
Everyone will be seated on our signature giant bean bags! If you have any special requirements please make us aware in advance so that we can ensure you have the best experience possible. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Is the seating allocated?
Whilst you’re guaranteed to be sat in your chosen section – Stalls or Premium – seating is however unallocated within this. You will be shown to your seats by a member of staff upon arrival. These will then be reserved for you for the rest of your experience, so you can come and go as you like. The earlier you arrive, the more choice of seats you will have! Trust us, we have checked each seat and they all have a great view. Any groups over 8 or groups who have booked separately should get in touch via email beforehand to ensure they are able to sit together – email@example.com.
What’s the difference between stalls and premium seating?
Premium seats are located throughout the centre of the cinema.
Stalls occupy the remainder of the cinema.
How do I redeem my pre-purchased food or drink?
You will be required to exchange your tickets, including those for pre-purchased food or drink, for Backyard Cinema Passes on arrival at our Box Office. You will then be given tokens in exchange for any pre-purchased food or drink; these can be exchanged at the Cinema bar. Please note that you may only redeem this token at the Cinema bar, and at no others on site, and we are unable to exchange or refund part or all of any pre-purchased food or drink items.
Can I bring my kids to this event?
Sure, we love kids! You will need to check the rating of the film and they will require a ticket. Obviously, they won’t be allowed to drink alcohol and our bar staff will be checking ID all night. We love seeing kids watching old classics like The Goonies, or Back to the Future for the first time. Please get in touch if you have any further questions – firstname.lastname@example.org.
Is there disabled access?
Absolutely, Capital Studios is fully accessible. The venue has wheelchair accessible toilets, accessible lift and a dedicated team on site who are available to assist throughout your visit. Additionally we offer carers tickets free of charge – when booking your chosen date, please select this ticket type on the main purchase page. Each Carers ticket will need to be purchased with at least one other full price ticket. When arriving on the day, we will ask to see a valid CEA or PIP letter as evidence of providing personal care – if you are unable to provide this, we may refuse you entry or ask you to pay the full admission price for that section.
Can I bring my own food and drink?
Afraid not, although you will be delighted to know we have a range of traditional cinema snacks on offer as well as a fully licensed bar selling beer, wine, cocktails and soft drinks.
Does the bar stay open during the film? I get thirsty…
I feel ya buddy, the bar will be open throughout the screening.
I need to get home at some point, when will it all be finished by?
The longest films we have scheduled finish no later than 11pm, but this will of course vary dependant on what you have elected to see! Please check the run time of your film (stated on the website) if you are concerned about your homebound journey.
Is there a dress code?
While dressing up as a character from the film is always welcomed (and encouraged!), there is no enforced dress code.
Can I smoke?
There is an allocated smoking area outside of the cinema. If you want to smoke you can pop outside – just make sure you keep hold of your ticket so you can come and go as you like.
Can I get a refund or swap my date?
Unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds or exchanges on ticket purchases. You can however give your ticket to a friend or family member to attend if you can no longer make it. The name on the ticket will not need to be changed as long as the attendee has a physical or digital copy.

Pre-purchased food & beverage T&Cs
This ticket is issued on behalf of Backyard Cinema and is subject to the following Terms and Conditions:
1. This ticket is not valid for entry into the cinema, and must accompany a valid ‘Admission’ ticket. 2. Upon arrival, present this e-ticket at the Box Office to exchange it for a Backyard Cinema token. This will be located at the main Roundhouse entrance and box office. 3. Tokens are only redeemable for your chosen drink / snack at the Backyard Cinema bar, located inside the cinema. 4. If you have purchased an alcoholic drink, we may ask you to prove you’re over 18 by presenting us with a valid form of ID. Backyard Cinema operate challenge 25, so you may be requested to show ID for any alcoholic beverages. 5. Drinks / snacks purchased in advance cannot be exchanged or refunded, or swapped for other items at the point of redemption. 6. The token is only redeemable within our licensing hours 11:00- 22:45.
